DENVER CITY PARK MULTI-TOPIC-TALK WALK AGENDA
March 26, 2008

Improv Walk Hosts and Walk Guests: These City Park Multi-Topic Walks are an opportunity for future improv Walk Hosts /Guests to introduce themselves to both improv and non-improv walking audiences by offering their preferred role in the RSVP comment for both DIC and TTW audiences. (See the RSVP comment by organizer Fran Rew.)

4:30 to 5:00 pm Each person introduces themselves to the group before we begin our walk telling us what walk roles and topics they would enjoy.

5:00 to 6:00 pm Multi-Topic-Talk group or groups walk around Ferril Lake (0.9 mile/circuit).

cool Photo Opportunity: Group/groups photo in the Rose Garden area with Ferril Lake and the Boathouse Pavilion in the background. Discuss a group/groups shape formation that the group would like to create for the photo, and/or improvise a group/groups formation.

laughing Improv Game: Depending on the group choice, we'll offer the option of icebreakers or an improv game. An example of one group improv game is the "Yes, and..." game, using at least one of the 7 words of the TTW mission statement in the context of personal topics of interest, and group relationships "Energizing balance of work, play and learning." This game also helps a group discover how to be heard, and to hear from different group-configuration positions within our walking group or groups of 6 to 15 walkers.

laughing Impromptu Group-Choice Topic Discussions: After icebreakers/improv game, groups of 6 to 15 walkers will form around their volunteer Walk Hosts/Guests to discuss their group's topic choice. Even if the Host/Guest is not familiar with that topic, they can lead the exploratory interactive discussion.

smile Group or Groups Cheer: Grand Finale of one-hour walk. Give yourselves a group cheer!

    •  Walking one-on-one communication is the most familiar style of communication. Getting the hang of talking with a group takes time and practice. With practice, we're discovering new ways to make a walking group conversation another familiar style of communication. Interruptions during a conversation to notice what's happening around us is all a part of staying in our present moment. It's hard to keep a rhythm of conversation thought with these interruptions. Even without the rhythm of thought, we had a delightful time.
